IIM students are conducting a research in “why this kolaveri di song”


The soup song has become an anthem for the future managers of the country. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are treating the popular song Kolaveri Di from an upcoming Tamil film '3' as a classic example of viral marketing

While Dhanush's " Kolaveri Di" has become an anthem for those young at heart, soup song has now become a subject of academic research at the Indian Institute of Management across the country.

According to a new survey, "Kolaveri Di" has become the top downloaded track on mobile with a score of 2,10,000 music downloads within 18 days of launch beating the previous records held by " Munni badnaam hui" and "Tere mast mast do nain". Recently, the marketing club of IIM Ranchi organized a seminar on campus to study the strategy that has turned this number into an overnight rage.
